Kumasi Airport to be named after Nana Agyeman Prempeh I

President Akufo-Addo has announced that the Kumasi and Tamale International Airport are going to be renamed.

The Kuamsi International Airport he said is going to be renamed Nana Agyeman Prempeh I International Airport and also the recently commissioned airport in Tamale is to be called the Yakubu Tali International Airport.

The president was speaking during the State of the Nations Address in Parliament on Tuesday.

He said the airport, which stands at an 98% completion rate, once operational will serve as a vital hub for regional connectivity, tourism, and trade in the Ashanti Region and beyond.

“Before then, there a number of important tasks lie ahead of us, one of which will be commissioning the Nana Agyeman Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi, and naming the recently commissioned airport in Tamale the Yakubu Tali International Airport.

He said government priority to complete the airport reflects its determination to position the country as a leader in aviation excellence on the African continent.
