Northern Police impound buses loaded with 320 AK47s and Wee

Police in Northern have impounded a Kumasi bound Bawku bus loaded with 320 AK47 guns and two magazines at Savelugu and another bus full of bags of marijuana at Wulugu.

 

The two buses were arrested upon a tip-off three days ago at Savelugu.

According to Northern Regional Police PRO, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, the first bus, a Neoplan bus was seized on the Walewale–Techiman high way when it was moving from Wulugu near walwale to Techiman, and that upon thorough search by the police, twenty-five compressed dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp were found in bags of charcoal.

Two persons who were arrested on the spot are currently on remand while the police command is preparing for laboratory tests on the suspected dry leaves found on the bus as they prepare for court.

On the same day, the police intercepted another bus from Bawku to Kumasi upon a tipoff with three hundred and twenty AK47 guns with two magazines being found after police search at Savelugu.

An unnamed suspect who was arrested at the scene was processed for court and remanded into police custody, ASP Tetteh added while confirming the incident on Atinka FM on Wednesday.
