Supreme Court Judge, Justice Victor J.M Dotse has urged upcoming Lawyers not to offer services only to people who can afford but do a lot of free services as well.

Speaking at the First Graduation Ceremony of the Faculty of Law at the Wisconsin University in Accra, he said, it would not be appropriate for legal services to be rendered to only people who could afford it.

"Do a lot of pro bono services to people. Do not only offer services to people who can pay in the discharge of your duties,"he stated.

That he said would open doors to many opportunities in the profession and ensure that, justice is delivered across board.

Justice Dotse also urged the graduates to ensure a very high level of professionalism, etiquette and maintain the values of the profession.

"Live and practice the profession without division but rather with integrity and hard work and learn to solve problems by playing with it."

Justice Dotse said, the practice of law is not for the faint-hearted but for courageous people that would stand for the truth despite the challenges.

Some of the challenges he said, include love of money, intimidation, fear and criticism from people across all sectors of the country and beyond.

Prof. Philip Ebow Bondzi-Simpson, Rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration(GIMPA) urged government to support private universities to rub shoulders with the public universities.

He argued that, the private universities are equally offering quality education which eventually benefits the entire country and must be supported by government.

He urged the Wisconsin University to set aside a long term strategic plan to become one of the best Universities in the world.

The Rector also urged the graduates to put the profession ahead of other material things in order to avoid all forms of corruption.

Present at the event was the Chancellor of the University, Justice Isaac Duose and Vice Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Prof. Kwasi Obiri-Danso.

In all, about 70 people graduated as the first batch of Law students of the University.
