The Eastern North Regional Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the theft of a Hyundai Santa Fe with registration number GG 2–18, stolen from Sarpeiman in the Greater Accra Region.
The suspects—Kwabena Tawiah and Kwadwo Asiedu—were apprehended on April 30, 2025, at a hotel in Nkawkaw, where they had been hiding.
Their arrest led to the capture of a third accomplice, Dennis Debra, also known as “Kapun,” at his hideout in Pemenase in the Ashanti Region.
According to police reports, the stolen vehicle was taken from a washing bay located at Kuntunse Satellite, Accra, on April 24, 2025.
During initial interrogation, Tawiah and Asiedu confessed to selling the vehicle to Debra for GH₵15,000.00, out of which GH₵2,000.00 had been received as part payment.
The police team successfully traced Debra, who was found in possession of the vehicle’s ignition key during a search at his residence. He was immediately taken into custody.
The suspects, along with the retrieved vehicle, have since been transferred to the Accra Regional Police Command for further investigations and possible prosecution.
The Ghana Police Service continues to urge the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to help combat rising incidents of vehicle theft across the country.
