Four unidentified suspected armed robbers in mask made away two motorbikes belonging to relatives of patients at the hospital in the early hours of Friday June, 15 after an attack on the security man on duty.

According to the security man, Mohammed Seidu, who was at post when the incident happened, he saw some people trying to take motorbikes and when he went to confront them, he was hit hard on the face.

"I went to ask them whether the motorbikes belonged to them but they hit me hard in the face, tied and beat me and took away two motorbikes" he said.

The security man who was found lying unconscious about 30 metres from his post tied with ropes and a rag in his mouth is currently receiving treatment at the emergency ward of the hospital.

Some patient relatives blamed the incident on the rampant light out in Salaga which made it difficult for the security man to see the faces of the robbers.

"The Eid-Ul Fitr celebration is today and every year we record such cases and so there was no reason we should have lights out" one of them said.

Meanwhile, the relatives of a patient told Prime News Ghana the security man allegedly took GHS5 each from them instead of the normal 50 pesewas with the promise to take care of the motorbikes and so will have to pay for the motorbikes.

The case has since been reported to the Salaga police for investigation.
