The Ghana Police Service has debunked reports that the murdered Public Affairs and Marketing Manager of the Tema Port  Josephine Asante, was sexually assaulted at her residence at the time of her murder.

The clarification comes after some media reports claimed the police had found semen on the deceased during their investigations.

This was after the police had picked up the houseboy of the deceased for questioning.

But ACP David Eklu, Director of Police Public Affairs, has explained that the police did not find anything to suggest that the deceased was sexually assaulted. He said the police is following other leads in carrying out its investigation to unravel the circumstances that led to her murder and identification of the potential killer or killers.

“The forensic examination we conducted indicated that the lady was not raped unlike what is in the media. There was no sexual assault on the lady and we can confirm that. We are looking at other possibilities in terms of the investigations we are conducting,” he said.
