Drivers in the Accra Zone of the Zoomlion Ghana Limited have embarked on strike effective Monday September 17, 2018.
It is not clear what compelled the strike, thereby accumulating filth in the city, but PrimeNewsGhana is reliably informed that, the drivers are protesting against their salaries.
Information available to PrimeNewsGhana that, the drivers are demanding increment in salary while others are demanding salary arrears which has not been paid for some months now.
A statement from the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) which was signed by the Public Relations Officer, Gilbert Nii Ankrah and copied to PrimeNewsGhana explained that “the Assembly has therefore deployed tipper trucks to collect all heaps as a temporal measure to manage the situationâ€.
