Hiplife artist and New Patriotic Party activist Kwame Asare Obeng popularly called A Plus has failed to substantiate corruption allegations made against two Deputy Chiefs of Staff, according to the Criminal Investigations Department of the Police.

Francis Asenso-Boakye and Samuel Abu Jinapor were accused by the artiste of using their position to enrich themselves. Describing them as “stupid” and “fools” he said Mr. Asenso-Boakye made several “requests” to unknown persons who wanted to see the president but were being prevented from doing so.

The appointee in a Facebook post denied the allegations and advised the artiste to use his energy appropriately.

Speaking to Accra’s based JoyFM early this week, A Plus, who declined to give details of the allegations on air, said the President has ordered for investigations to be conducted into the matter.

“The president has asked that it is investigated so let’s go in that direction- I am sure that if government want us to investigate on radio, he would  have referred the issue to you (host of the show),” he said. “It is proper we use the right channel to investigate the matter.”

But investigators say the artiste has failed to substantiate the allegations and has rather directed his lawyers do so on his behalf.

The latest twist has annoyed a number of Ghanaians who have slammed A Plus’ failure to offer any evidence to back his claim.

Political analyst Prof. Ransford Gyampo told Joy Fm sanctions must be applied to the artiste for failing to offer proof of something he had publicly defended.

“There should be a way the Police can impose punitive sanctions against those who are unable to provide credible evidence to back their claims-it will  discourage persons from making frivolous claims against people.” Prof Gyampo said.

Private legal practitioner Samson Lardy Ayenini on his part said the two have the right to sue for defamation if they feel the allegation has impacted them in a negative way.
