Supreme Court Justice, Jones Dotse has asked political parties to accept decisions of the courts when it comes to electoral dispute and adjudication.

He made the call at the Chief Justices Forum where he also admonished politicians to accept the verdict of the courts with a good heart as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Nana Akufo-Addo did in 2012.

The justice mentioned at the special forum organised by the Chief Justice, Theodora Georgina Wood under the theme 'Judiciary and Election 2016,' that political players must be responsible and prudent in their utterances and choices so as not to cause instability in the country.

“It is important to observe that for the judiciary to continue to play its key role in policing the 2016 elections and beyond it must have not only the constitutional guarantees of security of tenure, but also the enabling environment under which to work without any fear of intimidation,” he said.

Justice Dotse further noted that in life and politics “one may lose a case today and win another tomorrow,” so circumspection was the key to have.
