President John Dramani Mahama has officially broken ground for the construction of a 24-hour economy model market at Dormaa Ahenkro.

He indicated that all 261 districts nationwide will benefit from the initiative, with the markets designed to include facilities such as banking services, cold storage units, daycare centres, police and fire posts, clinic and other essential amenities.

During his visit, the President also assessed progress on key road infrastructure projects, including the Jinijini–Sampa Road and the Sunyani Outer Ring Road. He noted that macroeconomic stability had improved significantly, with inflation declining from 23.4 percent to 3.3 percent and the Ghana cedi strengthening from between GH¢16–GH¢17 to about GH¢10.70 against the US dollar.

President Mahama emphasised that sustaining these economic gains remains critical to protecting the economy against future external shocks.
