General Secretary of Opposition NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia says the''Aa gbe wor'' demonstration is not about the security agencies, but rather about the people who have infiltrated the police to bring the service's name into disrepute.

Asiedu Nketia said this while addressing participants and media men at Obra spot in Accra during the demonstration dubbed'' Aa gbe wor'' meaning they are killing us.

The demonstration organized by the Interparty Coalition saw the participants marched through some principal streets of Accra and later presented their petition to the Interior Minister Ambrose Dery and the Inspector General of Police, David Asante Apeatu.

The demonstration is intended to get the government to act on what they describe as insecurity in the country in relation to the Ayawaso West Wuogon violence which occurred last Thursday, January 31, 2019.

Speaking to journalists and participants of the demonstration Asiedu Nketiah said: ''Those traders who are complaining about high duty this is your day, free shs undergoing the traffic light system, the green, and yellow tracks this is your day. Come and pour out your anger, let the government know that they rest on the will of the people, they do what the people say. Democracy does not end at the conclusion of elections, democracy continues, even during the governing of the rulers who have been elected, this is the time you should let your voice be heard''.

''To my friends in the police service and security service, this demonstration is not about you. The responsibility of keeping peace in this country is raised on the shoulders of the police and the security services. What Nana Addo has subjected you to do is the works of humiliation when police vehicles and uniforms will be deployed to conduct this act and people will be blaming the police service,'' Asiedu Nketiah added.

NDC General Secretary Asiedu Nketia said:'' The Ghana Police Service we are telling you, we know it is not your work if any policeman knows about it, it is limited to the police administration at your headquarters, it is not about you. This demonstration if it goes beyond our plan we are not going to engage in any violence. Don't align with a wicked government, don't align with a wrong government and think that you are doing the service to this country.''

In an interview with PrimeNewsGhana, a participant of the demonstration said:'' All the parties came together to demonstrate against what is happening in the country. They kidnapped our girls, the dwindling free SHS policy, almost all our children are home, all the parties came together to demonstrate against the ruling party. We want the government to be a listening government, to each and everyone''.

According to him, ''this vigilantism has to stop, whether they like it or not. In relation to what happened at Ayawaso Bawaleshie last Thursday, if NDC wanted to retaliate what would have happened? We are here to hold a peaceful ''Aa gbe w)'' demonstration''.
