A member of the ruling National Democratic Congress Communications team Eric Ametor Quarmyne, has urged party members and sympathizers not to be troubled by the shocking defeat in the just ende December 7 general election.

President Mahama lost the presidential election to Nana Akufo Addo on December 7, 2016 after voters went to the ballot to elect a new leader. He polled 4, 713, 227 votes representing 44.40% of the total valid votes cast. Nana Addo the president-elect who will be sworn into office January 2017 polled 5, 716, 026 votes representing 53.85%.

According to Eric Ametor Quarmyne, being in opposition is not a death sentence but rather an opportunity to prepare well enough and come back stronger.

Speaking on Asempa FM, the NDC communicator appealed to all NDC members not to give up on the party while in opposition.

“Stand firm; four years is like four hours; we will be back in 2020” he said

He indicated that, the NDC lost the elections due to the well-structured campaign promises like the one district, one factory, one village, one dam policies of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP)

According to him, a lot of voters especially in the three-northern region bought into the idea and voted massively for the NPP.
However, he said they [NDC] will keep the NPP on its toes to ensure they fulfill all their ‘utopian’ promises they made to Ghanaians.
