President John Mahama has revealed plans to establish two new tertiary institutions in the Bono East Region as part of efforts to expand access to quality education and boost technical skills development.
The President disclosed that a Technical University will be established in Techiman while a University of Health and Life Sciences will be built in Kintampo.
He announced this during his thank-you-tour in the Bono East Region on Thursday.
“A site has already been selected at Forikrom in for the Technical University," he added.
The Technical University, will be critical in providing the technical and vocational skills needed to drive industrialization and create jobs for the youth.
In addition, the establishment of the the University of Health and Life Sciences in Kintampo will strengthen healthcare education and produce more medical professionals for the country.
We believe that technical education is essential for industrial growth and job creation, and with these institutions, we aim to bridge the skills gap and create opportunities for the youth of the region,†he stated.
These projects align with the government’s commitment to educational development in the country.
