New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has reaffirmed his commitment to fostering unity and peace during and after the party’s primary.

Speaking to journalists after casting his ballot at the Roman Catholic school in Assin Central, Mr Agyapong emphasised that internal harmony remained crucial for the NPP to reclaim the presidency in the 2028 elections.

“Unity and peace in our party is the key to victory in 2028 – that’s my solemn pledge,” he declared, urging supporters to prioritise collective progress over division.

He expressed confidence in the voting processes and dismissed any fears of unrest, declaring with conviction.

“I don’t expect violence because we are brothers.”

“If I’m the winner, I will be able to bring the party together,” he stated.

He added that, regardless of the outcome, the party must remain united, noting that internal contests can be tough but should not create lasting divisions.

“This shouldn’t be a problem at all. We’re all going to come together as one party and work. Sometimes contests get tough, and words may be used that are not palatable, but that doesn’t mean anyone should leave the party,” he said.

Mr. Agyapong also appealed to delegates to vote in his favour, urging them to “vote number one.”
