President John Dramani Mahama has revealed that road contractors who abandoned projects across the country will soon return to their sites to complete outstanding works.

He explained that the auditor general has concluded an audit of road contracts awarded under the previous administration, and soon, all projects that were stalled will see contractors going back to work.

President Mahama disclosed this on Sunday, July 20, 2025, during his Eastern Regional Thank You Tour at the Jackson Park in Koforidua.

According to him, his administration remains committed to the Big Push Agenda, indicating that it will help drive infrastructure development.

“The Auditor-General has come with his report. So we are going to make the contractors go back to the site. But those who had double payment will be punished,” he stated.

He stressed that all contractors who had received payments both from the Road Fund and the Ministry of Finance would face sanctions for the duplication.
