The Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Qatar has announced plans to undertake an emergency evacuation exercise for Ghanaian nationals living in Qatar following heightened security concerns in the region.
In a statement issued on March 15, 2026, the embassy said the decision was taken by the Government of Ghana after assessing the evolving security situation in the Middle East.
“The Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Qatar wishes to refer to its earlier notice dated 6th March, 2026, and to inform all Ghanaians living in Qatar that the Government of the Republic of Ghana has decided to undertake an emergency evacuation exercise in Qatar in the wake of the heightened security situation in the region,” the statement said.
The embassy emphasised that the arrangement would be strictly a one-way evacuation to Ghana for nationals who wish to return home immediately.
Ghanaians who wish to be evacuated have been asked to reconfirm their interest by submitting the biodata pages of their passports via email to the embassy.
“Accordingly, Ghanaians in Qatar who wish to be evacuated immediately from Qatar to Ghana are kindly requested to reconfirm their interest by submitting the biodata pages of their passports by email,” the statement added.
The embassy said the documents should be sent to doha@mfa.gov.gh no later than Tuesday, March 17, 2026.
