The chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Charlotte Osei, has denied claims by some members of the public that her husband designed the commission’s new logo.
Speculation had been rife that Madam Osei’s husband designed the logo and that when she was the director of the National Commission on Civic Education (NCCE), she forced a similar logo change to enable her husband get the contract.
But at a press conference in Accra on Tuesday she said: “And no, my husband didn’t design the logo.”
She defended the decision of the commission to stick to the logo despite accusations by some members of the public that it was plagiarised.
“We don’t feel we plagiarised their logo …I don’t think it looks like mine, I like mine better…it supports our strategic direction,” she said.
The commission also threw light on what the logo stands for.
