Prophet Bernard Elbernard Nelson-Eshun has publicly apologised for what he described as inaccurate prophetic declarations he made concerning the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primary.
The apology was conveyed in a Facebook post on Saturday, January 31, after provisional results from the NPP presidential primaries indicated that former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was in the lead.
In a statement, the Prophet admitted that through a book, videos and media interviews, he had predicted that Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyapong would win the NPP primaries and emerge as the party’s flagbearer, a prophecy which did not materialise.
“That word did not come to pass. I missed it. I was wrong. I am deeply sorry, and I ask for your forgiveness,” he said.
Prophet Nelson-Eshun acknowledged that because he spoke publicly with what he termed prophetic authority, many people trusted his declarations and were affected emotionally, spiritually and politically.
He accepted full responsibility for the failed prophecy and apologised to those who made decisions based on his declaration.
“I do not blame anyone or shift responsibility. I accept that this prophecy, as declared, failed,” he stated.
The Prophet said the incident had caused him to pause, reflect and realign himself in accountability and discernment regarding how prophetic revelations are communicated.
He reaffirmed his commitment to integrity, growth and truth, and apologised to believers in Ghana and beyond who felt disappointed or wounded by his declaration.
Prophet Nelson-Eshun also expressed gratitude to those who had corrected him in love and continued to pray for him.
