A former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ododiodio Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Reginald Nii Bi Ayibonte has predicted the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) will win the Greater Accra Region in the upcoming elections.

According to him, despite attempts by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to make this election about what they had built, Ghanaians were well aware of the hardships in the country and were going to vote them out.

Speaking on Citi FM on Wednesday, Mr Ayibonte said, "the current government is engaged in cement and block politics [and are] always talking about what they have built" but the reality on the ground is that there is too much hardship and the people will punish them for that.

With this, "I can say that the Greater Accra will go to the NPP".

He further added that though projects like schools and its likes were good, building them without the proper resources was wasteful expenditure.

"It's not about the number of schools built [but] are they well resourced?", Mr Ayibonte who happens to be the only NPP member to have served as the MP for Ododiodio in since 1992 asked.Â
