Joyce Mogtari Bawa, the Spokesperson for the NDC campaign has stated that the NDC’s 2016 manifesto is well researched, building on achievements chalked by the government while offering key policies to make life even more prosperous for the citizenry in the next National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.

She stated on Ghana Television’s ‘Talking Point’ show that the manifesto was not just for NDC supporters but the general public and global partners as well adding the document proposes remedies to issues affecting Ghanaians at this time.

On the same show, Governance Expert, Dr. Eric Oduro Osai commended the NDC for using efficient communication skills to disseminate its policies inherent in the manifesto.

Dr. Eric Oduro Osai noted, the manifesto launch of the NDC also revealed plans which were orally communicated without being in print such as the presence of an Attorney General’s office in every district and proposed election of Municipal And District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).

Although he acknowledged that not every policy pledge in a manifesto can be fulfilled, Dr. Osai nonetheless believes that manifestos give the critical mass of people who vote, something to base their expectations on.

A panel member, Dr. Kobby Mensah who is a political marketer stated since manifestos are the tools governments could be held accountable by, it was imperative any serious political party offers its manifesto as it also gives its foot soldiers material to propagate the party’s collective message with, winning new converts and retaining trust of old supporters.

He however warned that in a digitized society, any unfounded policy pledge when not acted upon in government will be badly exposed.
