The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to officially declare the outcome of its 2026 presidential primaries and formally present its newly elected flagbearer on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

The event will take place at the party’s national headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra and is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m., according to a programme outline released by the party on Wednesday.

Party supporters, executives and guests are expected to gather for what is anticipated to be a significant milestone in the NPP’s preparations toward the 2028 general elections.

The programme will feature three main activities, including the official declaration of the presidential primary results, the outdooring of the newly elected candidate and an address by the flagbearer.

The address is expected to set the tone for the party’s next phase following the conclusion of its internal electoral process.

Saturday’s event comes after a keenly contested primary that attracted several high-profile figures within the party.

Among the aspirants were former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Assin Central Member of Parliament Kennedy Agyapong, former party General Secretary Ing Kwabena Agyepong, former Education Minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum and former Minister of State at the Finance Ministry Dr Bryan Acheampong.
