He might not be the Electoral Commissioner but President John Dramani Mahama during the final rally of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) at the Accra Sports Stadium has declared victory for himself and the party after the general elections.

The confident President said, the NDC has worked very hard in government and campaigned adequately to ensure victory.

"We have not been complacent with the campaign and fought this election as if we were in opposition,"he stated.

He added that "we have covered every blade of grass and gone to every part of the country and grateful to all for the support."

In what seemed to be more of a message of appreciation, he said "this is the best campaign I have ever experienced in my life. The selfless enthusiasm of supporters and volunteers who on their own have gone from village to village just to send the message to our people and grateful to all."

The victory he said is dedicated to the hard working party faithfuls as they are the heroes of 2016.

The President said, the NDC can proudly say they have made everyone proud with their achievements over the last four years.

"Now the rest is in the hands of the people of Ghana and the will of the Almighty God. I place my destiny is your hands, God and the Ghanaian people."

He was however optimistic that the people of Ghana would vote for him to continue with his good work.
