Greater Accra Regional Minister, Nii Laryea Afotey-Agbo has asked leaders of the National Democratic Congress(NDC)to desist from shifting blames on the founder of the party, ex-President Jerry John Rawlings for their defeat in the December 7 elections.

Greater Accra Regional Organizer of the NDC, Anthony Nukpeku earlier accused the Founder for initiating the party’s defeat by describing them as corrupt which the opposition used against them.

Reacting to the comment on Citi FM, Mr. Afotey-Agbo said the party ignored good council from the former President which could have helped them to stay in power.

“I do not think the former President should be blamed for anything because this is somebody I have been with at a very close range and worked with and do not think he needs to be blamed for whatever situation we are in now,” he stated.

He added that, Mr. Rawlings gave the party all the needed advice and whatever it takes for us to remain in office and “if at a point, he kept quiet, he wasn’t coming out again, I do not see why he should be blamed for the current situation in the party.”

The party he said cannot blame anybody for the loss as if they had done things well at the various levels, of the DCE’s had behaved well and had been on top at all levels, they would not have lost all the seats especially in the Greater Accra Region and other parts of the country.
