President John Dramani Mahama says, apart from the National Democratic Congress(NDC), success under the New Patriotic Party(NPP) and any other political party is not guaranteed.

Speaking at the final NDC campaign at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, he said the NDC over the four years have demonstrated their capability to lead the people and succeeded in transforming the nation within the period.

“Ghanaians on Wednesday have a choice of staying the course and forging on with determination and consolidate all the gains that have been made over the last four years or to give up and begin again on another course of which they have no guarantee for success but just the oral assurances of a small group of people,” he stated.

He added that “these are the choices we face in the elections on Wednesday and it is for Ghanaians to make a determination of which of the two they will choose.”

He stressed that “it must not be said that we cannot pursue a task to its logical end because we are lured by the anchored promises of change. We would be like a flattering flag that changes direction with every shift of the wind.”

The NDC administration he said, have undertaken many structural reforms based on pragmatic advise of many well-meaning Ghanaians all must share in that success.

However, the President said, despite all the good work done, there is more to be done and Ghanaians can only advance faster if they press on and stay the course. That he added is how Ghanaians can consolidate the gains that have been made.

“There is never an end to challenges any nation faces as the richest nation on earth is still dealing with challenges. It does not mean when you confront challenges, you must run off and go and start at fresh. The achievements are well documented.”

The President said, over the four years, they have been able to stabilize the economy, resolved the power challenges and significantly improved the social and economic infrastructure.

“I intend to focus on continuing the investments that we have made in improving our infrastructure and bringing it up to middle income status.”

When voted into power again he said, “I also intend to focus on livelihood and empowerment of the Ghanaian people and growing the Ghanaian private sector. I would use government muscle to help the Ghanaian private sector to capture the commanding height of the Ghanaian economy.”

He added that, he would continue to be President for all Ghanaians and open the opportunities of this country to all Ghanaians irrespective of their political, ethnic, or religious affiliation. “I shall be father of all.”

The President said he would continue to be a unifying factor in this country and humbly as for the mandate of Ghanaians to complete the journey the NDC have started.
