Member of Parliament(MP) for Yunyoo Constituency,Joseph Bipoba Naabu has waded into the raging controversy in the NDC, and has accused Valerie Sawyer and other officials in the Mahama-led administration, of being behind reasons why the party lost the  2016 elections.

According to him, Dr. Sawyer, who was the Deputy Chief of Staff and Policy Advisor to former President Mahama, was not competent and does not have the right  to 'insult' ex-President Jerry John Rawlings.

"Dr. Sawyer and other appointees were not competent, otherwise the NDC would not have lost the elections. If Sawyer believes she is competent, then she should contest an election in her constituency to see if she could win,"she said to Citi News.

Ms. Sawyer has been in the news for descending heavily on former President J.J Rawlings and Martin Amidu, in  an article which slammed both men for their constant criticism of the party.

He said the former president should be commended for the enormous sacrifices he made for both the party and the country.

He added that the former President always spoke the truth especially with issues relating to corruption in government.

"Mr. Rawlings even criticized former President John Kufuor on his administration anytime something went wrong. That does not mean he is a bad man,"he stressed.

If Valarie Sawyer wish to deny Rawlings' corruption stance against the NDC,what effective and due diligence did the people surrounding former President Mahama do to address the issue of corruption, he asked.

Mr. Naabu said, Dr. Sawyer's comments were in bad taste and should be condemned by all.
