Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has outlined the Mahama administration's key development priorities to members of the Ghanaian community in Toronto, Canada, emphasizing government's commitment to economic transformation, job creation and inclusive growth.
Addressing the Ghanaian diaspora during an engagement session, the Vice President conveyed warm greetings from President John Dramani Mahama and provided updates on major programmes and policies being implemented under the government's Reset Agenda.
She highlighted progress being made in critical sectors such as infrastructure, healthcare, education and agriculture, noting that the administration remains focused on improving the living conditions of Ghanaians and creating opportunities for sustainable development.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang outlined several flagship initiatives, including the 24-Hour Economy programme, the Big Push infrastructure agenda, Feed Ghana, Farmer Service Centres, the No-Fees Stress Policy, MahamaCares, Free Primary Healthcare and the Women's Development Bank.
According to her, these programmes are designed to stimulate economic growth, support businesses, create jobs, improve access to essential services and promote social inclusion across the country.
The Vice President stressed that government is determined to build a stronger and more prosperous nation through policies that empower citizens and expand opportunities for all.
She also underscored the important role of the Ghanaian diaspora in national development and encouraged members of the community to remain actively engaged in efforts to advance the country's socio-economic transformation.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang reaffirmed government's commitment to fostering stronger ties with Ghanaians living abroad and leveraging their expertise, investments and contributions to support Ghana's development agenda.
