Hearts of Oak 108th anniversary: Grand Hearts Gathering logo unveiled

Private television firm, OMY Television in collaboration with the National Chapters Committee of Hearts of Oak have today October 16 unveiled "The Grand Hearts Gathering" logo as part of activities to mark their 108th anniversary.

The ‘Grand Hearts Gathering’ logo was unveiled by the board member and CEO of Hearts of Oak  Dr Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe and Frederick Moore respectively and CEO of OMY TV Aku Mensah at an event held at the Media Centre at the Accra Sports Stadium.

According to the Public Relations Officers of the club’s Chapters Committee Jones Asante Mfodwo affectionately called Kobby Jones this year's theme "Let your Phobian count" means supporters need to participate in the activities of the club to reach greater heights.

The Grand Hearts Gathering” will take place at the Pavilion 'A' of the Accra International Trade Fair Centre-La on November 16 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm with musicians Wendy Shay, Fameye and Sister Afia, Dr Cryme and others billed to perform on the night.

CEO of the Rainbow club Frederick Moore averred that management of the club is doing everything possible to make November 16 (Grand Hearts Gathering) a great day for every supporter who will be at the event as well as those not present.

He appealed to all supporters to make it to the event for it to be a success.

Meanwhile, the 1911 club have outlined activities to mark their 108th anniversary on November 11.

  • November 8: A visit to the Chief Imam's residence
  • November 10: A visit to a church
  • November 11: A visit to Swallaba in the morning, Sod cutting at Pobimna and donations to an orphanage 

Chairman of NCC Elvis Heman Hesse remarked that the core mandate of the supporter's group is to mobilise fans for the club, he went on to assure the supporters that there are many good things to come which include winning the Ghana Premier League very soon.

CEO of OMY TV, Aku Mensah thanked Hearts of Oak for allowing them to associate with their anniversary.
