Aduana stars win first CC game as they beat AS Vita Club 2-1

Aduana stars have boosted their chances of qualifying to the next round of the CAF Confederations Cup by defeating AS Vita Club 2-1 in Dorma.

The Dorma-based side nervously needed a win to boost their chances of progressing to the next stage of the CAF Confederations Cup.

Aduana Stars had a flying start to the game. The Dorma-based side took just three munites to break the deadlock courtesy Bright Adjei who scored a fine goal to give the Ogya boys the lead.

In the ninth munites, Yahaya Mohammed doubled the lead for Aduana stars by powering a header into the net from a delivered cross.

AS Vita Club gradually warmed themselves into the game and pulled one back through a free kick.

Aduana Stars dominated possession but failed to find the back of the net. The first half ended 2-1 with Aduan stars leading.

In the second half, AS Vita Club threw everything at Aduana stars but failed to find the back of the net.

Aduana stars held onto their lead until the final whistle.

Aduana stars proved doubters wrong prior to the match, following concerns whether the Ogya boys are fit enough because of the halting of the local league by the government.

Aduana stars top group A with 4 points, followed by AS Vita Club with Raja Casablanca and ASEC Mimosas set to play later.
