Africa football governing body, CAF is optimistic Egypt will host a successful tournament despite limited time on their side.

The North African country won the bid to host the continental tournament ahead of South Africa in a landslide victory after CAF stripped Cameroon off the hosting right due to poor preparation.

A CAF delegation for the past few days have been in Egypt inspecting the readiness of the host country.

The areas of concern include Stadia, Accommodation, Transportation, Communication, Medical, Security and Protocol, which is critical to the successful organization of the 32nd edition of the flagship continental football event scheduled for 21 June to 19 July 2019.

"Egypt will be ready," CAF communications director Nathalie Rabe told AFP at Alexandria Stadium.

"We have plans for renovations, but in any case, the infrastructure is there."

On the issue of security, Nathalie Rabe said that "arrangements will be made".

"We are confident, we know that it will be done and that all stadia will be equipped with security rooms," she added.

The 2019 Cup of Nations, which is due to run from June 21 until July 19, will be the first to feature 24 countries since the decision to expand from 16 teams.
