Caleb Ekuban has apologized to Ghanaians after his penalty miss cost Black Stars a place in the quarterfinals of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nation in Egypt.

Black Stars hope of winning their fifth AFCON trophy in Egypt was curtailed after losing to Tunisia 5-4 on penalties at the Ismailia Stadium.

The 25-year-old who came on has a substitute miss the crucial spot that got Ghana eliminated from Africa's biggest football tournament.

He took to his twitter page after the game to ask for forgiveness: "I’m really sorry."
