Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan claims he is broke and has just £600 in his bank account.

Gyan, who made 37 appearances for Sunderland after making a £13million move to England, currently plays for Kayserispor in Turkey.

However, the 33-year-old insists he is not being paid and claims he has spent the millions of pounds he's earned throughout his career.

"My front and back, up and down is that money (£600) you see there."

The former Sunderland frontman left the Black Cats to join UAE club Al Ain in 2012 after impressing on loan.

He smashed 123 goals in 120 games before a lucrative move to Shanghai SIPG of the Chinese Super League.

Gyan joined Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai but he returned to Turkey last year where his fortunes have nosedived.

It is claimed the forward hasn't had contact with his wife Gifty or three children since August and is not returning their phone calls.

Gyan met his wife of six years back in 2002 but it is understood he has requested an annulment in order to marry socialite Nina Atalah.

His three children are due to travel to Ghana from England for a DNA test, requested by the player's older brother, Baffuor.
