The Black Meteors have qualified for the U-23 AFCON set to take place in Morocco later this year.

The Meteors booked qualification to the tournament after emerging victors over two legs against their Algerian counterparts.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko's side secured a 1-1 draw against Algeria in the 1st leg on Friday.

The team on Tuesday completed the assignment at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium as they beat their opponents 1-0 (2-1 on aggregate) in the second leg of the qualifiers to book a slot for the June tournament.

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku's first-half header was enough to separate the two sides.

The U-23 AFCON will take place in Morocco from June 23 to July 8
