Ä°stanbul BaÅŸakÅŸehir F.K. defender Joseph Attamah Larweh is hopeful that he will make the final Black Stars squad for the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.


The tough-tackling defender has been very instrumental for BaÅŸakÅŸehir as they are currently on top of the Turkish Super Lig.

The former Tema Youth defender has 4 caps for the Black Stars of Ghana and is currently one of the best-performing Ghanaian defenders outside the country.

Kwesi Appiah Announces Squad

Coach Kwesi Appiah announced his 24 man squad for the Black Stars' final Afcon qualifier against Kenya with a number of key names missing.

Attamah was one of those key players missing and coach Kwesi Appiah looks to give new players an opportunity to justify themselves as Ghana has already qualified for the 2019 AFCON.

His omission comes as a surprise to many Ghanaians as he has been one of the revelations for BaÅŸakÅŸehir this season.

Attamah believes he will be named in the final squad for the AFCON as he has been one of the inform players plying their trade outside.

His fine form has seen him attract interest from several top European sides including Fulham in the English Premier League.

The 24-year-old’s versatility allows him to play in central defence, right-back or holding midfield and is an asset for every squad.

He will make history this season if his side BaÅŸakÅŸehir F.K. who are on top of the Turkish Lig with 58 points, 6 more than Galatasaray who are second with 52.
