In a rare move or rather a first of its kind, the 2018 CAF Super Cup will be played outside the African continent, CAF has confirmed.

The decision, that was earlier spread as a rumour has finally been confirmed on Wednesday following a CAF Executive committee meeting that passed the changes.

“CAF executive committee decided that Total CAF Super Cup 2018 between Esperance Sportive de Tunis and Raja Club Athletic will be played in Qatar. Date & Time will be announced later...,” CAF has tweeted.

The 2018 CAF Super Cup (December transition edition) will be played between the 2018 CAF Champions League winners, Espérance de Tunis from Tunisia, and the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup winners, Raja Casablanca from Morocco.

Previously, the Super Cup was hosted at the home of the Champions League champions. In this case, it would have been hosted by Espérance de Tunis at their Stade Olympique de Radès in Radès, Tunisia.

The winner will walk away with US$100,000 and the loser settles for US$ 75, 000.
