Ex-Asante Kotoko coach, Michael Osei has opined that he has been impressed by his former outfit's performance in the on-going CAF Confederation Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors broke an 11-year jinx to advance to the group stage after beating Coton Sport 5-3 on aggregate. They have been Paired in Group C with Sudanese side Al Hilal, Zambia duo of Nkana FC and Zesco United.

The ex-Liberty Professionals and Kotoko gaffer is rallying his support behind the team and he is optimistic the Reds will surpass the group stage.

“I monitored them throughout their qualification and they did very well, I was personally impressed with the kind of football they played,” he told NL Radio.

“They should keep up with this kind of performance and I believe they will make it past the group stage."

“No one expected them to get to the group stage and it is a plus for them so I will urge them to work harder."

“This stage is more difficult because you have the best teams all at the Group stage.”

The Reds will open their Group C campaign against Al Hilal in Sudan on February 3.
