Etoile du Sahel have terminated the contract of head coach Faouzi Benzarti by mutual consent ahead of their second leg clash in the CAF Champions League against Asante Kotoko.

Faouzi Benzarti was relieved of his duties due to poor results since his appointment in July.

Etoile encountered five defeats, a draw and a win in their last seven games in all competitions under the watch of the former Tunisia international during his 3 months tenure.

Head of Football, Mehdi Laajimi as well as Sports Director Imed Mhadhbi and General Secretary Adel Gaith have all resigned from their positions and join Benzarti at the exit, a club statement Wednesday

Rafik Mhamdi, who deputized Benzarti and second assistant Imed Ben Younes, have been tasked to lead the team for the CAF Champions League final playoff at home against Kotoko.

Etoile du Sahel will host the Asante Kotoko in the return leg at the Stade Mustapha Ben Jannet in the final preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday, September 29.

The North Africans are trailing the Porcupines by a two-goal deficit heading into Sunday's game.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko have left the shores of Ghana to honour the return leg in Tunis. Coach Kjetil Zachariassen named his 18-man for the trip in Felix Annan, Osei Kwame, Empem Dacosta, Evans Owusu, Patrick Yeboah, Habib Mohammed, Agyemang Badu, Blay Justice, Kelvin Andoh, Samuel Frimpong, Naby Keita, Augustine Okrah, Emmanuel Gyamfi, Emmanuel Gyamfi, Richard Arthur, George Abege, Alexis Didi Arnaud, Godfred Asiamah and Jordan Opoku.
