The owner of Como FC and wife of Micheal Essien Akosua Puni is facing a tough time after her team was demoted to the Italian Serie D after the Club entered administration.

Puni who is a well-known business woman bought the Club at an auction price of  €237,000 when they were in Serie C earlier this year.

The businesswoman bought the club at a bankruptcy auction held by FC Como Limited but failed to meet the deadline of paying €200,000 required to retain their status in Serie C, forcing FIGC to slide the side further.

Como have faced huge financial difficulties ever since they were declared bankrupt in 2004.

There was optimism the Club would rise when Puni purchased it,  but things have not gone the right way and she had to even apologise to the entire team after delaying their salaries for a month.

The Italian club plied their trade in the Serie A in the 2002-03 season but this was followed by three consecutive demotions.
