Ex-Hearts of Oak defender Dan Quaye believes that players in the Ghana Premier League should be paid a minimum salary of $600 a month.

The former Ghana international believes that if players are paid such a figure, it will prevent the current player exodus in the country.

Several top players in Ghana have left the country to ply their trades in the smaller league due to high wages they earn.

“Pay our players very well. Premier League players should take not less than GHC3,000”, Dan Quaye suggested.

Players in the Ghana premier league receive as low $30 per month leading to the departure of players to countries like Djibouti, Burundi, Ethiopia, Seychelles and even India.

Dan Quaye joins a list of players who have called for an increment in the salaries of player in the Ghana Premier League.
