Division One League leaders AshantiGold have confirmed the appointment of Abdul Karim Zito as the club’s new head coach.
Zito’s arrival comes just 15 days after he resigned from his position at Asante Kotoko, following the club’s exit from the FA Cup.
Confirming his appointment, FC Ashantigold highlighted the value Zito adds to the technical team.
“Coach Karim Zito is in our camp. He has joined the technical team. His experience, discipline, and winning mindset add strength to our bench and belief to our squad. Welcome to FC Ashantigold, Coach. Let’s get to work,” the club said.
Zito’s domestic achievements include guiding Kotoko to multiple trophies, including the FA Cup, President’s Cup, and Toyota Cup. He also enjoyed a historic CAF Confederation Cup run with Dreams FC, leading them to the semi-finals before being edged out by Egyptian side Zamalek SC.
FC Ashantigold 04 currently leads Division One League Zone 2 with 40 points from 20 matches.
