Randy Abbey has stated that he foresees the 2019 Ghana Football Association presidential election to be won in the second round if Palmer is cleared to contest.

The Heart of Lions owner averred that should Palmer be reinstated in the presidential race the election will head to a runoff.

"If Wilfred Osei Kwaku is contesting, I am definite that the elections will go for second round but if he is not, it could be a one-round - Randy told Happy FM.

Osei Palmer has been disqualified from contesting in the GFA Presidential election after he was the only candidate among 6 others deemed not fit to pass vetting.

The Normalisation Committee in a letter stated that the Tema Youth bankroller application to contest as President of Ghana football was unsuccessful, according to a “breach of Article 33(5) (c) of the GFA General Regulations and Decision of the Ethics Committee dated the 13th December 2017.”

However, Randy Abbey former spokesperson of GFA says the NC did not provide enough grounds for Palmer's disqualification.

"There were no details on Palmer’s disqualification. The NC only quoted two articles."

Wilfred Osei Kwaku has headed to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) seeking to prevent the Normalisation Committee from organising the 2019 GFA election without him.

He's filed an appeal with the global body seeking to overturn the disqualification decision and Executive Council aspirant Randy Abbey has noted that there is a possibility Palmer will not be allowed to vie for future positions if he does not clear himself.

"This decision has implications beyond the elections because my understanding of the implications of Palmer’s disqualification means he can’t even contest for any position in football again."
