The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set to officially unveil veteran coach Carlos Queiroz as the new head coach of the Black Stars today, Thursday, April 23, 2026.
The appointment follows the dismissal of Otto Addo in March after Ghana’s disappointing performances in international friendly matches against Austria and Germany.
The GFA has since turned to the experienced 73-year-old tactician to lead the team, handing him a short-term four-month contract focused on delivering results at the upcoming global tournament.
Queiroz arrived in Ghana on Wednesday, April 22, touching down at the Kotoka International Airport ahead of his official unveiling.
He will be introduced to the public at a press conference scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.
After the unveiling, the GFA is expected to present him to the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, as part of official protocol.
The Portuguese coach is expected to quickly get to work as Ghana prepares for major international assignments.
