AshantiGold on Saturday returned to return winning ways after sending struggling WAFA to the cleaners.

The Miners who last weekend succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to Legon Cities put smiles on the faces of their fans at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium by whipping relegation-threatened WAFA 6-0 in a Ghana Premier League matchday 24 fixture.

Yaw Annor opened the scoring for the Miners in the 12th minute after tapping the ball into an empty net.

He added a second in the 14th minute before Aminu Adams made it 3-0 in the 36th minute.

Amos Nkrumah’s shot took a wicked deflection as it made it 4-0 in the 39th minute and Eric Esso made it 5-0 before halftime as he benefited from a goalkeeping error.

After the recess, Ashgold made host of changes but only got one goal and it was Yaw Annor’s third to make it 6-0.

AshantiGold goes 9th on the table by virtue of the win as WAFA are still in the relegation zone.

Over at the Accra Sports Stadium, Ten men Accra Lions edge Karela United by a lone goal.

Federick Asante 71st minute strike separated the two sides after a barren first half.

The win jumps Accra Lions to 10th on the table with 30 points while Karela lie 8th with 33 points.
