Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach Paa Kwesi Fabin quit his role as head coach of the side on Thursday, August 13, 2018, to the surprise of many.

The trainer had only been at the helm of affairs for seven months and was beginning to build a solid team but decided to vacate his post.

Reasons for his resignation have become a mystery but according to Footy-Ghana.com, they have in their possession a leaked video of the coach negotiating terms with a South African club even though he has a contract with Kotoko.

Footy-Ghana says it was a Maccabi FC a First Division side in South Africa and Kotoko management upon seeing the video were preparing to sack the former Hearts of Lions coach.

Insiders also indicate that the coach, for some reasons, decided not to join the team in camp prior to their two games against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak and AshantiGold last Sunday.

Explaining his decision, Fabin said, “…I deem it right to exit as the league here has been suspended and above all enable my replacement to be able to familiarize with the team and continue with the success chalked so far.”

It is, however, unknown if Paa Kwasi Fabin has been successful in his negotiations with the South African side, Maccabi FC.

Kotoko, however, issued a release rejecting Fabin's resignation and asked him to honour his contract or use the proper procedures to resign.
