Cristiano Ronaldo has offered his comments on Lionel Messi's abrupt retirement from Argentina's national team.
Messi shockingly announced his retirement from international football after missing a penalty in the shoot-out loss to Chile in the grand-finale of the Copa America Centenario but Ronaldo thinks Messi needs to be back in the Argentina shirt.
According to Ronaldo, "Messi has taken a decision and people have to understand him. He’s not used to defeats and disappointments, or even finishing second".Â

"Missing a penalty doesn’t make you a bad player. It hurts me to see Messi crying and I hope he comes back to the national team", he added, according to Mundo Deportivo.
