The Black Queens of Ghana suffered another huge defeat as they were beaten 7-1 by Japan in an international friendly on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at the Nagasaki Stadium, Japan.

The Black Queens who recently won the WAFU Zone B tournament were blown out completely as they conceded three goals in the first half.

Police Ladies striker Jane Ayiyiam drew the Black Queens level after she slotted home on a defensive blunder from the Japanese to cancel Rikay Masuya's 14th-minute goal.

Ghana could not hold on to that draw for much longer as Mana Iwabuchi restored Japan’s lead in the 28th minute despite some good saves from Ghana goalkeeper Patricia Mantey.

The Japanese made it three just before halftime as Rika Masuya scored his second on the day.

The Black Queens struggled to contain the pace and skilful Japanese side as Emil Nakajima got the fourth for the home team in the 47th minute.

Black Queen coach Mercy Tagoe made some changes by bringing on Grace Owusu for Priscilla Okyere who had been quiet throughout.

Those changes had no bearing on the game as Japan's Hikari Takagi got another goal for the host after Patricia Mantey had pulled a fine save to deny Sakaguchi from scoring.

Yuika Sugasawa lobbed home for Nadeshiko’s sixth before Aya Sameshima joined the party by wrapping up the victory for Japan with the seventh goal in the 83rd minute.

The Black Queens suffered a heavy defeat in 2016 when Germany beat Ghana 11-0.
