Ghanaian boxer, Joseph Agbeko has proved that he could become a World Champion once again after a sterling performance to defeat Tanzanian Haji Juma at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday night.

The ten-round bout saw the former world champion dominating with all three judges scoring the fight in the favour of Agbeko.

The first judge Erasmus Owoo scored 100-89, second judge Clement Ashong scored the bout 100-89 while judge Mensah Akakpo also had 100-89.

The fight was used to promote peace ahead of the December 7 elections while the boxer also used the bout to revive his career ahead of a possible world title bout.

Agbeko has two major bouts in the United States which may include a major world title opportunity to defend his British bantamweight title.

Agbeko dethroned Luis Alberto Perez in 2007 to become the IBF bantamweight champion and went ahead to defeat William Gonzalez by majority decision and defended his title in 2009 by scoring a unanimous decision win Vic Darchinvan to become three times world champion.

The boxer is optimistic that he would become a world champion again and called for support from all Ghanaians.
