Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko SC have parted with another key figure of their bench ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup playoff ties.

The Porcupine Warriors mutually parted ways with assistant manager Akakpo Patron to create room for Johnson Smith on the technical bench.

Reports on the local scene linked Johnson Smith to the assistant managerial role while Akakpo Patron was set to be demoted to the development team.

Akapo Patron showed remarkable tactical prowess at the Sogakope Red Bulls Arena before heading to the Baba Yara Stadium as an assistant manager.

He is expected to head back to the Red Bulls Arena after reportedly turning down the chance to head the U20 team of Asante Kotoko SC.

Meanwhile, Johnson Smith is set to be unveiled in the coming days.
