Black Stars defender Kasim Nuhu was shown a red card while playing for his German club Hoffenheim against France’s Olympic Lyon on Wednesday night.

The Kumasi-born player received a second yellow card in the 51st minute while his team was still tied at 1-1 with host Lyon.

The 23-year-old has been a key figure in Die Kraichgauer’s central defence having played the previous entire matches in the Bundesliga against Bayer Leverkusen (4-1 win) and RB Leipzig (2-0 loss).

Nuhu will now miss Hoffenheim’s next UCL match against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday 27 November but will, however, remain available selection in the Bundesliga.
