Kwesi Appiah has been officially unveiled as new coach of the senior national team, the Black Stars, in a ceremony at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) headquarters in Accra today.
Former Black Stars Skipper Stephen Appiah was named the new Technical Coordinator while Richard Kingston has been named the Goalkeeper's trainer.
Ibrahim Tanko has been named as First Assistant coach with Maxwell Konadu taking up the position of the second Assistant coach.Â
According to the Vice President of GFA, George Afriyie, Kwesi Appiah would also be responsible for the Black Stars Team B(the local Black Stars).
He again clarified the point that, Appiah was not given the job on a silver platter, rather on merit, adding that he was the more matured person for the job.
Kwesi Appiah has been tasked to build a strong team, qualify the team to the next AFCON and employ the best means to qualify the team to 2018 Russia World Cup.
The new coach expressed appreciation to Ghanaians for their support and pledged to build a very successful team within the two-year period.
He committed to changing the fortunes of the Stars with the building of a strong national team which would win trophies over the next ten years.
