Leicester City release Daniel Amartey

Leicester have announced the departure of Daniel Amartey from the club this summer.

The Black Stars defender has been released following the expiration of his contract as the Foxes prepare for life in the Championship following their Premier League relegation.

Others include Youri Tielemans, Caglar Soyuncu, Ayoze Perez, Nampalys Mendy, Ryan Bertrand and Tete.

Amartey moved to Filbert Way in 2016 making the first five of his near-150 appearances for City during the Club’s Premier League title-winning season.

Amartey went on to feature for the Club in all domestic competitions, and three European campaigns.

Dean Smith's side have returned to the second tier of English football for the first time since 2014.

They incredibly won the Premier League just two years after promotion as well as the FA Cup in 2021.
